HILVERSUM The city centre of Hilversum was decisively formed in 1915-1954 by its city architect Willem Marinus Dudok. Apart from diverse school buildings is the city hall the outstanding example for his architecture, a mixture between Amsterdam School and De Stijl. One of the most important examples of dutch Modernism can be found in Hilversum the Sanatorium "Zonnestraal" by Duiker, Bijvoet and Wiebenga.

Hilversum, the home of the dutch Radio, is playing an important role for the dutch media as employer but also for the architecture. The Mediapark shows different design periods the most recent ones are the Villa VPRO of MVRDV and a new building of Koen van Velsen.

Architecture by Van den Broek en Bakema, Willem Dudok, Duiker, Bijvoet, Wiebenga, Richard Meier, MVRDV, Neutelings Riedijk, Koen van Velsen and many others
