UTRECHT Utrechts' medieval centre is dominated by a central canal which is boarded by two levels. Also in Utrecht can be found the famous Schröder house of Gerrit Rietveld, an icon of architectural modernism, or other unique projects such as the double house of Biarne Mastebroek/ MVRDV and the city hall extension of Enric Miralles.

The campus district "De Uithof" offers a good overview of recent dutch architecture the Educatorium of Rem Koolhaas, the Minnaert-Building of Neutelings Riedijk, the Faculty of Economics with its theme yards of Mecanoo, the Laboratory-Building of UN Studio and further architectural projects are part of the master plan developed by OMA and Art Zaaier to densify the original plan dating from the 60ies.
